Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) PROGRAM

Participation in the FSS program is voluntary for and is open to current Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) and Public Housing Program participants. The program is for participants that are unemployed or underemployed. The objective of the program is to assist these families in obtaining employment that will allow them to become self-sufficient, that is, not dependent on welfare assistance.

Home Ownership Voucher Assistance Program

The HCV Home ownership Program of the Housing Authority permits eligible participants in the HCV Program, including participants with portable vouchers, the option of purchasing a home with their HCV assistance rather than renting.


The Housing Authority of the County of Wake's Public Housing Waiting List is open. Applications are accepted each week on Tuesday from 9-11 a.m. and Thursday from 2-4 p.m. at our Administrative Office located at 100 Shannon Drive, Zebulon, NC 27597, however for your convenience, YOU CAN NOW APPLY FOR HOUSING ONLINE!  Just click Apply for Housing on the menu bar.  Questions, call Ms. Camacho at  919 269-6404 x 210.
